Teenagers and young people are at a stage in their life that involves the transition from childhood to adulthood, in which considerable physical and mental changes take place. In this period, young people might be extremely vulnerable and require all the support and understanding that one could offer.
As they are gradually carving out an identity for themselves, they become more susceptible to their peers’ influences and those of their environment. The Maronite Youth Service at St Charbel’s was founded to ensure that every youth who needs assistance will find a place to be heard and to receive fair and impartial counselling.
Common areas of concern amongst young people and teenagers include self-esteem, depression, anxiety and stress, addictions, anger, conflict within the family, grief, relationships and more.
St Charbel’s Maronite Youth Service offers individual counselling, group and workshop sessions, parent and family support programs and other events to meet the concerns of youth and their families.
The program will run again later this year. For more information, please contact the Parish office on 9740 0998.
